It’s a nice early start for what is becoming the go to venue for electronic music, Heaven under the arches at the Embankment. It’s a great room and the sound there is excellent.
Tonight’s it’s the collaboration of two bands, Panda Bear and Sonic Boom who came together to produce one of my favourite albums ‘Reset’ over the last twelve months or so. With just the one album together they proceed to play that all the way through stretching the songs a little with extra twiddling bits to fill the set.
It’s coupled with a stunning visual display projected behind them that really enhanced the songs coming together to produce a full psychedelic sensory experience. Noah Lennox’s voice soars tonight above the electronics and sounds crystal clear in this room.
After the run through of the album it’s onto some deep cuts from their former albums but for me it was all about that album. There's definitely a respectability of a gig finishing nineish and post gig drinks could be the new norm.
A great show to almost end the year with just one more next week until I bid a fond farewell to 2023 which has been another epic year for live music after the Covid wilderness.
Keep on psychedelic electronic rockin’ y’all
