Like the set this review will be short and sweet. His Lordship, aka the multi-talented James Walbourne and the wild man on the sticks Kris Sonne plus Dave Page on bass, have come a long way since I first saw them back in 2021 at the Moth Club.
This show is part of a whirlwind record store promotion for their debut self-titled album and tonight it’s in the tiny Banquet Records shop. So me and fifty or so hardy souls cram between the vinyl racks with James and Dave behind the counter with Kris and his kit on the floor in front of them.
It’s exactly as expected an incendiary adrenaline rush of past paced rock and roll. We already know that James is one of the best guitarists around but his voice has never sounded better and I was surprised at his range now. It’s a relentless thirty minutes or so as they rattled through most of the album.
Nothing more to add. Buy the album see them live you won’t be disappointed.
Keep on rockin’ y’all
