Treetop Flyers are a five piece Folk, Americana, call it what you will band from London. With a new album ‘Palamino’ just out the set draws from this and their debut ‘The Mountain Moves’. Starting off with three guitarists, the bands virtuosity is demonstrated with a switching between guitar and keys for a few songs.
If your thing is the 70’s west coast sound then you’re in for a treat. The two, three, four part harmonies throughout are beautiful and complement each other perfectly. The keyboardist takes the lead on one song seamlessly taking on the vocal baton before handing it back. The band are tight tonight with some great solos thrown in for good measure that don’t overpower the strength of the songs.
It’s a lovely lush sound with the lead singer singer’s voice reminiscent of Danny George Wilson that’s gives them a wonderful soulful edge much like ‘The Champions of the World’ recent efforts
It’s all over too soon but I leave humming the tunes throughout the journey home. Some great songs but it’s the melodic, harmonistic quality of the band that sets them apart from the crowd.
Keep on rockin y’all
