After a mixed night of success with the bookies Mr Adams comes on stage almost as soon as the racing finishes. The predominantly middle aged female crowd go wild as much as drunk middle aged women can. After an hour he's done all the hits and I'm left wondering what else there is. Well it was another hour of other stuff I hadn't heard of apart from a couple of sixties covers.
Fair play to Bryan he treated this as any other show and performed a full 2 hour set. The problem was I'm not a fan and most of the songs I didn't know and it could have ended 30 minutes before it did. The band were good, the lighting was good, his voice can still hits the notes but as is usual with these open air gigs, the sound was awful being taken in and out by the wind. I'd had my fill after an hour especially after the abomination of 'that song' you know the one, from Robin Hood, yes that's it I cant even bring myself to name it.
Highlight of the evening was when Bryan asked for a bad woman to dance for him. Up popped may volunteers but the camera picked up one lady who had the camera on her the whole song. It looked suspiciously like a woman I work with and sure enough when Bryan asked her name it was Sue the very same.
So a pleasant evening but not one for me musically to live long in the memory.
